So... you are just starting setting up your LuvLink Friendship Lamp, and you are wondering what part of the setup process you are in and what each lamp color means? This guide with help you out!
The Friendship Lamp lets you know exactly what stage of the setup process it is on with these color codes:
Dim Blue - I am just turning on and connecting!
Dim Red - I am unable to connect to the WiFi and would like to be set up.
Dim Purple - I am downloading and installing an update. Just wait until I'm swirling green and ready to go!
Dim Orange - Connected to WiFi and not to the internet.
Dim Yellow - Awaiting approval from your group.
Swirling Green - I am connected to the WiFi and ready to go!
Is Your LuvLink Friendship Lamp Stuck on a Color?
PURPLE: If your lamp is stuck on purple, it means it is going through an update and will go to swirling green when it is completed. If it is taking a long time, we recommend that you unplug the device and plug it back in. Then, you can check the firmware on the app to see if the lamp is on the latest firmware.
In some instances, the Friendship Lamp will be stuck on purple if it is unable to connect to the WiFi due to some restrictions on your router.
Here is an article that can you out in troubleshooting a purple lamp: My LuvLink Friendship Lamp is stuck on purple!
YELLOW: If your LuvLink Friendship Lamp is yellow, please reach out to the Group Admin (the first person who setup the Group) so that they can approve your lamp into the group. Once done, the lamp will go to swirling green indicating that you're ready to go!
The group admin will be notified via email that a new lamp is awaiting approval to join the group, but they can also see on the LuvLink App that a lamp is on 'PENDING' status.
Please note that there could be other factors that may cause your Friendship Lamp to get stuck on yellow. It could happen when the WiFi connection drops out (usually due to an outage) or if there is an issue with the power source that your are using.
ORANGE: If your Friendship Lamp is orange, it means that your lamp is not successfully connected to the internet. Here's a few things for you to check:
- Please ensure that the router is providing an internet connection
- Please ensure that your router does not have restrictions on new devices
- Please check to see if your router is a standard home WiFi Router, or an Enterprise network.
GREEN: If a LuvLink Friendship Lamp is swirling green, but does not communicate with the other lamp/s in the group, it could mean that the GroupID was entered incorrectly. Please remember that the same GroupID needs to be entered correctly - exactly as it is - on each lamp during the setup to link them together.
Please refer to this article for helpful instructions in checking your GroupID: What is a GroupID and how can I enter it?
